I take heart from this news for two reasons. First, I like #Bernie and #AOC. It's encouraging to see them on the road, speaking up, and finding supportive audiences, including working-class voters formerly on the blue team.

Second, every party undergoes a divisive internal debate after defeat. If the party was on the left, the question is: Did we lose because we were too centrist or too progressive? To win next time, should we tack further left or tack to the center? This debate is important, understandable, unavoidable. And at first the answer is far from clear. It takes time for the debate to clarify the issues, time for relevant data to emerge, time for new and old leaders to test the waters. The debate isn't settled by arguments and analysis. It's settled empirically when potential leaders on one side test the waters and find more support than potential leaders on the other side. That's what I see here. Bernie and AOC are testing the progressive waters and finding growing success.

What about centrist Dems? What are they finding? Maybe I'm missing something. I see centrist Dems being centrists, but I don't see them testing the waters for leadership, let alone with growing success.

Bernie and AOC held the largest rally so far on their totally amazing Fight Oligarchy tour -- 35,000 people in Denver!

From what I can tell, that is more people than Trump's largest rally, and it is more people than Bernie's previous largest, held while he was running for president! (It doesn't come close to Obama's biggest rallies in Chicago.)

Just went to every major news site and saw ZERO mentions of this, so I wanted to do my tiny bit in sharing this hopeful fact.

Local news nothing online. Social media for largest news AZ Central shared good video on Threads but I won’t link here to Threads. We picked up estimate 15k capacity in stadium, 5k capacity overflow area AND thousands outside who never made it in. Bernie and AOC came all the way outside to speak afterwards to remaining crowd. I am still betting all local news will downplay it and those videos on Threads won’t be published online tomorrow. I am sure my guess was pretty good - 15k to 20k or more.

I returned to #MeetTheRepublicans to catch #Bernie.

Welker asked him if #Zelesky was disrespectful of T**** (not her exact words) and he said, Absolutely Not, pointing out how "we've always stood of the side of the victim & fought the aggressor.

Welker quickly dropped the subject.

Then asked if he's sign a #budget that includes #Musk's cuts just to avoid a #Shutdown. Again, #Bernie says, No, and again Welker drops the subject.

After the devastating Dutch elections [‘23-11-22] I decided to dedicate my toots back to the original goal.
I care about a lot of issues, most global some national; but I won't be 'tooting' about them all.

First and formost I WANT to 'toot' about:
* #ClimateSolutions
Because I trust that most people reading know about the dreadfull future of climate change, I want to spread the, possible, solutions to a problem rather than reiterate on the problem.
* #ClimateJustice
One of those solution might be sueing the polluters or governments on human rights, violations or #Ecoside
* #ClimateAction
Action is by all means a solution.
* #ClimateEmergency
* #Climate

As said I want to focus on the global issue. I don't want to nitpick on too much principles. Like: "What's worse: eating cows or driving diesel?" Both are devastating behaviors of intitled rich people!
On the otherhand therefore I truly respect ANY effort to make a change for the better.

Most of all... I want to add instead of preach. Bring some bits of the puzzle to the table.

I'm NOT a scientist of any kind. I'm just a disabled old white guy typing on a desk reading and searching a lot.

I tend to toot 10-15 toots at 13:00* that I boost again unchanged at 20:00* the same day, but that's NOT a promise. [*=my [Amstedam] time]
