Today marks my last day in my 20s, I’ll be turning 30 tomorrow! 🎉
It feels like such a beautiful privilege to get the chance to grow older and wiser (?), I am very aware that many, many people did not get the chance to reach their 30s, and I consider myself very lucky.
I will talk about this a bit more tomorrow, but it’s hard to believe how far I’ve come in the past decade, and I can honestly say that I am the happiest I’ve ever been!

Here’s to, hopefully, another decade 🥂

Another birthday gift I offer to readers here: the first rose of the season bloomed in our garden today. This is a fragrant old rose we've had since the 1980s, when a sweet elderly neighbor in New Orleans, a Black gentleman named Mouton Bickham, shared a cutting with us. For years, not knowing that the rose is called Louis Philippe, we called it the Mouton Bickham rose. I love seeing it in this hand-painted vase that my favorite aunt cherished.

1. Another year around the sun. There have been times in my life when I didn't think that was gonna happen. But I'm here and life is pretty good overall!

2. Went out for a nice dinner despite a thing that happened earlier that made me want to just hide at home.

3. Got two stars in the Nether Realm museum of Two Point Museum. Been working on that one for a While.
