Weaver<p>"Everybody's happy nowadays" - Buzzcocks</p><p>For me, indelibly associated with Steve Lurpack's Driveltime Show on BBC 6 Records. He used it as the bed to talk over at about 4.10, and it was clear that RadMac was done for the day and the fun was over and we might as well turn the radio off.</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/TOTP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TOTP</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Buzzcocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Buzzcocks</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/SteveLamacq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SteveLamacq</span></a></p>
Jyoti Mishra<p>This is an absolute pearler. The 20yo punk girl in this would be 68 now. </p><p>My fave bit, from a babyfaced Pete Shelley, "There’s people banning us who are saying that we’re foul and obscene. Do I look foul and obscene?” - cue the most winsome smile. </p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/PVy5DD2oTxQ" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/PVy5DD2oTxQ</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/Punk" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Punk</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/PunkRock" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PunkRock</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Buzzcocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Buzzcocks</span></a></p>

Great_Albums<p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Buzzcocks" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Buzzcocks</span></a> – Singles Going Steady (1979). Buzzcocks made snappy singles combining punk angst with a clear pop sensibility. Pete Shelley sounded fierce and vulnerable at the same time, fronting a band channeling Please Please Me as much as Raw Power or Kick Out the Jams. “What Do I Get?”, “Ever Fallen in Love?”, “Promises,” and other highlights of this collection still sound brash and immediate – testaments to simplicity widely imitated but seldom matched. <br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/GreatRockAlbums" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GreatRockAlbums</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/GreatAlbums1970s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GreatAlbums1970s</span></a></p>
