Ellie Kennard PhotographyMy favourite tree. A stately Maple that has seen things in its life. When we moved here, 28 years ago, there was a tire swing on one of the branches, but that broke, thankfully when no one was on it. The trunk is hollow almost all the way up inside and has housed raccoons and possibly sheltered a fox, too. Ellie Kennard PhotographyJust Rest There For a While Last night I woke at 3:45 and just caught the last of the blood moon eclipse but I wasn't able to take any photos. The moon looked quite pink, unlike the one here. I took this image during my participation in the <a href="https://pxlfd.ca/discover/tags/GooglePlus?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#GooglePlus</a> Mentorship Program for Photographers led by Robin Griggs Wood. What a great experience that was! This was my comment about the photograph and the mentorship then: "Like this moon ...I feel that I have been told "just rest here for a few minutes, and look around you. We are all here to support and help you define yourself." (Sigh.) This is also my favourite tree which I featured recently. Ellie Kennard PhotographyOld Cape Spear Lighthouse, Newfoundland We didn't have a car on our only trip to NFLD, but we did manage to get in a bit of sightseeing thanks to a student of Steven's. My father's family came from a tiny community, Greenspond, but I didn't manage to get there to see it. Newfoundlanders are such hospitable, kind people, as I think many people found when 9/11 happened and US planes were forced to land in Gander airport for safety.
