Slowly building over 7 minutes it rawly and perfectly describes the descent into that void/abyss of depression. Knowing Molina's story and how it ended makes this song feel that much more tragic. Suffering with severe depression and alcoholism throughout his career he channeled a lot of that pain and despair into his music.
