AnthonyRecently I disabled Google Play services on my Android smartphone. A number of apps complained that they would not function properly, but I disabled this notification each time it appeared and eventually I stopped seeing it. Alarmingly, when I used the keyboard I was told GBoard would not function properly, even though I don't use GBoard, never have, and disabled it long ago.

I can report two things:
- Not a single app has misbehaved in any way I've noticed, despite the flurry of warnings
- My phone's battery life is over 50% longer, which for me means over 5 days between charges (see graph)

Play services are off forever then.
