I'm adding commentary below the original text.<br> <br> This is from 11 May 2018<br> Pixel one: Mycetinis rubra. It's lovely and small, with a very red cap at night. I am happy with the long stalks on these. They are very minimalistic.<br> <br> I only made three of these, but later I created many more in a very similar style - just with a different base and without real dried moss. I think I sold them all to a shop, so I have no idea where they ended up - but I’m not entirely sure anymore. Apparently, it’s possible to make so many things that you don’t quite remember where they went.<br> I’m always surprised and fascinated by the way art moves through the world. It has happened quite a few times now that I’ve been invited somewhere for the first time, only to realise that my art was already there. And there are now so many places my art has gone that I’ve never seen - different countries or even continents. I'm adding commentary below the original text.<br> <br> This is from 2 June 2018<br> Amanita muscaria. The yellow light turns red on the top, with lovely brighter and darker channels. Those are really hard to take good pictures of, so you will just have to trust my words when I say it's even better in real life.<br> <br> Apparently, lights are hard to take pictures of -doubly so when placed under a glass dome. If the lighting isn’t just right, the camera will only capture reflections on the glass rather than the mushroom lights beneath it. But if the lighting works for the glass dome, it might be completely wrong for the mushroom lights. Sometimes, I just take two pictures - one with the glass and one without - then combine them in my editing software later.<br> Even then, the lights never look exactly as they do in real life. They always lose detail. In reality, there are lighter and darker areas on the lights, with soft color variations. In photos, those differences mostly wash out.
