Since I'm a few hours from the end of this week, I want to mention what I've done so far to #reclaim my #digital life & protect my #privacy: Use #Mullvad #VPN. Downloaded all my files from #Google #Photos, deleted everything from said service (& #Onedrive for the matter), cancelled my Google One #subscription. I installed my own #Joplin #server for my notes. Switched to #DuckDuckGo but simultaneously, testing #Searx #instances. Baby steps ahead but still, steps ahead. Next step, NextCloud.

Oh smudge and tarnation! And other mild consternation.

I give up. I am no longer fit to use a computer. This morning I lost a post using Vivaldi browser. So I am now using #Mullvad browser. Lost a post again. This morning I also muddled up my website. Losing the excellent Fediverse info.

Luckily inspired by the weather forecast and warm dressing we went for a walk. I posted a picture and... did you guess. I lost it.

Come to think of it they will probably be eating me soon enough.

Ah Ha! A bit of unloading and ranting and I am fine. If I post this and it goes through, Today has been a good day of chatting to workmen about their device to gas zombies. Well they did clarify that their device was just for temporary use and we were close in our query.
No zombies were harmed.

#Mullvad just cancelled our subscription. We’ve been with them for 5 years.

Apparently back in 2022 they decided that their ongoing commitment to privacy and knowing as little about their customers as possible now extends to requiring people to manually pay.

A cynical person might argue it’s a way to force people to pay for 12 months like basically every other similar company is currently doing.
