Partial #eclipse sunrise seen from #NovaScotia this morning.

Sunrise, half eaten by the invisible moon, a thick crescent shrinking as it breaches the horizon to rise into a clear sky, framed by bare tree branches perfectly still on a cold, crisp morning.

After sunrise, the sun three-quarters obscured, continues rising behind tree branches, some budding with the promise of leaves, soon, this early spring morning.

The sun, mostly obscured into a little sliver, fades ethereally into icy clouds, thin budding branches in the foreground bidding it farewell.

Crows are really hard to capture in the middle of the day. But this fall day last October was overcast, and the angle was right so that the details in this crow's plummage really popped. The head was really dark, but I lightened it in post processing so that the face's detail also came out okay.

A crow perched on a tree branch. You see it's back feather and its head is sideways with one eye looking at you.

Have you ever seen the highway lines being painted?

Looking ahead as a car passenger at a two lane road, lined by forest. Ahead of us, in our lane is a grey car. In the other lane is a truck that is as wide as it takes to paint the yellow line that indicates this is a divided highway and a broken white line to indicate a passing lane. The back of the white truck has orange bars, and in one of the back windows is a sign with a skull and crossbones. Someone is having fun at work.

This tree has been dead for many years. One might think it a safety precaution to take it down before another hurricane or tropical storm hits given its size, but I have photos of it taken over may years... :)

Looking out the side of a car window, we see a huge green lawn in front of a two_story grey house, with lots of white-trimmed windows and a red brick chimney and cloudy, grey sky. Beyond is forest. In front of the house is a tall, gnarly dead tree.

I love driving this highway. The Northumberland Strait is on the other side of that rise and that river we see in the foreground is a tidal river/marsh.

Taken from a moving car, to the side, we see a brilliantly lit, yellow-green field that continues up to the top of a rise. At the top is longer, darker grass, power poles, and to the right, we see a white house. The sky is pale blue, with puffy white clouds. Along the bottom is more brilliant yellowish-green grass that leads to a dark blue narrow river surrounded by marshy vegetation. The river and the strip of land on either side is in shadow. A heron can be seen flying low over the lit part of the grass on the far side of the river.

A rural highway in NS. It's a very twisty road, no lights at night. That is the Bay of Fundy, and I love the patchwork colours of road repair. :)

A shot taken as a car passenger. Ahead, to the right, turning to the right ahead, is the road, with a huge dip ahead. The pavement is a pinkish colour, but more recent repairs have a darker strip of pavement centred in the middle of the road. There is a small shoulder of red dirt on both sides. The landscape is treed, hilly, with some cleared fields. To the left, we can see blue water, where treed cliffs curve around the bay.

Next in my Canadian province linocuts is Nova Scotia, with its provincial bird, the Osprey and its flower, the mayflower.
