Jackie Wallace<p>**SoaS 0.8pf (Sim-on-a-Stick)** is a lightweight tool for Second Life developers to test projects locally. It runs an offline copy of OpenSimulator, perfect for testing scripts, objects, and builds without uploading to servers. Easy to set up and use, it’s ideal for quick development and testing without real-time user interaction. A must-try for SL devs!</p><p><a href="http://simonastick.com" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://</span><span class="">simonastick.com</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/secondlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>secondlife</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/opensimulator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>opensimulator</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/virtualworlds" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>virtualworlds</span></a></p>
Jupiter Rowland@<a href="https://universeodon.com/@lelanicarver" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lelani Carver</a> It's strange to see what kinds of hardware have problems with Second Life and OpenSim, especially the Firestorm viewer.<br><br>I'm mostly on six-year-old upper-mid-range hardware. Ryzen 5 3600X, Radeon RX 590, both on a modest MSI B450 mainboard. This is far from high-end gaming hardware. OS is Debian, graphics driver is open-source and issued by Debian. I don't even have any configuration UI for my graphics hardware. Ask gamers, and they'll tell you I shouldn't be able to do anything with this setup.<br><br>And yet, Firestorm 7 gives me much higher frame rates with shadows on and a 256m viewing distance than Firestorm 6 gave me with shadows off and a 128m viewing distance. Even with crazy complex avatars around, I think I never go below 30fps. And I've got a 60fps cap myself.<br><br>#<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=Long" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Long</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=LongPost" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">LongPost</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=CWLong" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">CWLong</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=CWLongPost" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">CWLongPost</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=SecondLife" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">SecondLife</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=OpenSim" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">OpenSim</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=OpenSimulator" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">OpenSimulator</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=Metaverse" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Metaverse</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=VirtualWorlds" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">VirtualWorlds</a> #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=FirestormViewer" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">FirestormViewer</a>
