Four colour photos, taken at the show, fairly chaotic colourful backgrounds.
Cymbidium 'Upstart'. A couple of stems of flowers and buds. Petals and sepals simlar narrow and long, yellow base with dark orange or brown stripes, labellum white with magenta spots and yellow throat, anther cap pink/brown.

Cymbidium 'King Arthur'. A single stem with several open flowers. Petals and sepals simlar, longer than wide, greensih yellow with stripes and flush of brown rising from the proximal end, lip mainly white with a few pale magenta spots and yellow throat, anther cap yellow with borwn reticulation.

Cymbidium 'Bon Bon'. Petals and sepals similar, wide ovate, chartreuse, lip creamy white with strong red markings, anther cap pale with reddish reticulation.

Laeliocattleya Santa Barbara Sunset 'Showtime'. One stem bearing two open flowers. Petals and sepals similar, subulate, coral-orange with slightly darker ventation, labellum slightly ruffled and bright magenta at the distal end, proximal end curled around in to a tube, yellow inside with strong dark red striping on the inside, petal colour on the outside.

Drôme-Ragwurz und Fliegen-Ragwurz hybridisieren an Standorten mit gemeinsamen Vorkommen recht leicht. Das Ergebnis ist dann eine hohe, schlanke pflanze mit den Merkmalen beider Elternteile. Hier sind sowohl Fliegen-Ragwurz (links), Drôme-Ragwurz als auch die Hybride (Mitte) zusammen zu sehen.

My orchid did me the honour of growing a flowering stem with eight buds this winter. First one finally opened today.

The intricacies of an orchid flower make it quite difficult for macro photography, as nothing is really flat and you need to be very accurate on the exact spot you want in focus.

I have been waiting for this orchid to flower. Unfortunately, Meggie-cat knocked the plant off the cupboard (she's usually much more careful) and the flower spike broke, leaving just this one flower for me to enjoy. But it's still beautiful.

Epiphytes. At the Tenam Puente site -- in extreme southern Mexico and at 1700 meters (5500 feet) elevation -- there were lots of epiphytes growing on the trunks of the many small trees. Orchids maybe?

A small tree with a couple different types of plants growing out of the bark. One plant has thin, needle-like leaves. The other has broader light green leaves. A stone temple is in the background.
