Il danneggiamento della diga di Tishreen, una delle tre dighe sul fiume Eufrate, rappresenterebbe un disastro economico ed ecologico, poiché costituisce la più importante risorsa di acqua ed energia per l'intera regione. L'esercito turco vuole neutralizzare le resistenze sulla diga per poter aprire la strada alla conquista di Kobanê, città simbolo della lotta contro l'ISIS, e per questo non si fa problemi a bombardare direttamente su civili, anche quando questi stanno ballando o sono trasportati in ambulanza.
