YnckeI'm looking for something to make reference cards. (Context: I don't know much about plants, so I want to make cards with info like "doesn't like being turned around", "water once a month during winter" and "needs repotting every three years" for my potted plants.) Not dissimilar to DnD spell or animal form reference cards, I guess. An image, some icons in fixed places, a text area. Maybe a colour coded calendar. I'm thinking about something that has a simple text 'database' file (yaml, json, whatever), with the info I want on the cards, and then some way of generating the cards. (So that if I have extra info I want to add, I can just regenerate them.)I'm pretty sure someone out there already made something like that, but I'm not sure in what direction to search. A <a href="https://comicscamp.club/tags/LaTeX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#LaTeX</a> style? Eugenia LWhen it comes to "page design"/DTP, most people know of InDesign, or the free Scribus. But there's another free tool too for all OSes (including Linux): Viva Designer. Very advanced, and with a good UI, albeit not open source. Not just because of my choice of OS and refusal to get into Linux, but because - for the same reason I'm on the fediverse - I hate monocultures. And software that can only realistically run in a docker container or some other tightly-bundled environment is, imo, badly engineered. It is ironic that much "free" software offers very little actual freedom in how it is run. (Yes I understand that maintaining support for differing platforms is additional work. But once upon a time, "linuxisms" was considered bad. I don't miss configure scripts and automake, but I very much miss the attitude and culture of "if it smells like unix/posix, this should work".)

HJBHab mir gerade mit <a href="https://bildung.social/tags/scribus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#scribus</a> einen Sitzplan als PDF gemacht. Wenn man es mit <a href="https://bildung.social/tags/xournalpp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#xournalpp</a> (ab Version 1.2) aufmacht und auf einen SuS draufklickt, kommt man zu einem leeren Blatt, auf dem man sich Notizen zum SuS machen kann. Man kann mit Xournalpp so viele Seiten einfügen, wie man will! Kann evtl. auch mit iPad und <a href="https://bildung.social/tags/GoodNotes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#GoodNotes</a> verwendet werden.
