Rain (with the ever-present "chance" of snow) returns early in the week.</p><p>In other news, Sitka is without its main internet provider, GCI, as emergency subsea cable fixin' is happening for about 10 days. SilverSalmonAK<p>5:45AM: 40F, fairly heavy rain at the moment.</p><p>NWS says light rain, but it's really coming down up here at the Russian Cemetery!</p><p>We'll have rain/snow showers for the next few days then clearing skies and sun for midweek. The NWS says, quite emphatically, "rain and snow" for Friday, so again...we'll see!</p><p>Trees and bushes are budding and spring is in the air. SilverSalmonAK<p>6:30AM: 42F, light rain. </p><p>We went to the Fiddle Grind last night (the Grinds have a long and storied history during the winter months - I'll write that up sometime.) SilverSalmonAK<p>A seiner out of Sitka, the Wind Walker, capsized yesterday a few minutes after midnight, in a particularly dangerous spot between Juneau and Hoonah. It's assumed there were 5 on board. </p><p>The search is ongoing in ongoing shitty weather. Empty survival suits as well as an empty raft have been found. </p><p>We all know how this will end. 💔 </p><p>Those searching: CG SE Alaska, CG Air Station Sitka, CG Station Juneau.
