@ProjectFearlessness #Pakistan replaced anywhere between 20-40% of its energy production with rooftop #solar in 2024 alone.

Its been so rapid, despite entrenched fossil lobbies, the Gov has had to cancel future coal and gas power projects, and renegotiate contracts with current ones to lower their prices or just shutter them

No amount of lobbying or narrative building can beat cold hard science and economics.

#Renewables are the future!

I often see this kind of #electricity distribution board on YouTube being hand built in #India (often in utility/workshop area near incoming supply).

One thing I've always wondered is why the bayonet #lampholder is mounted there, surely the lamp will glare in the eyes of anyone trying to use it? Or is it just to test lamps so see if they are working?

Also why do very few people wire up protective #earth on these things when they are feeding 3 pin sockets?

Chrismukkah isn't the only hybrid holiday around. Diwaloween (or maybe, Hallowali) comes every few years, when Diwali, the festival of light, coincides with Halloween. This year is the first time it's happened since 2016. Here, Religion News looks at how it's celebrated, from trick-or-treating at the temple to sparklers lighting the night, and what it says about South Asian American culture. “I think this is a sign of one of the many ways that Hindu and other South Asians who celebrate Diwali and festivals this time of year are making America their own in some way and participating in these rituals,” said Shana Sippy, associate professor of religion and chair of Asian studies at Centre College.

RNS · The mashup holiday 'Diwaloween' celebrates light as the year turns dark(RNS) — This Thursday (Oct. 31), two seemingly opposing holidays, Diwali and Halloween, will be celebrated as one by many South Asians for the first time since 2016.
