Yvan
Newbie #SpringBoot question... my @Entity has some "virtual" fields that are derived from database fields combined with configuration/properties values. As it isn't a "Bean" managed by Spring Boot I cannot use @Autowired/@Value access to the properties in @Entity to generate and return the derived values. Note: I want these derived values to be used in ThymeLeaf templates.

So what is the "correct" location to generate the derived values... is it in the @Entity but I have to pass in the property values somehow, and how does that work with templates... pass it into a constructor or helper method?

Or should it be somewhere else like some other sort of class like the Controller? Perhaps set up and passed in via the Model/context.

Sure, I can think of ways to do it, but curious what the correct/"Spring Boot"y way is.

I.e. if it was all in the @Entity:

public String getBlah() {
return this.blah;
}

public String getExtraBlah() {
return <some.property.file.value> + this.blah;
}
