Good day!

Another productive day behind, another ahead. It’s as simple as that.

I’ll edit my blog post, then edit another chapter. More of the same.

Except, not.

When it involves creativity, there’s no sameness about it, not if I’m doing it right, which is why I welcome the challenge.

I awoke with a migraine #today, to say nothing of the spiritual, emotional migraine the day is already holding in promise.

As I rise to begrudgingly meet the day, I’m thinking about the kind of art I like best, and how lonely that experience can be when it seems Mystery is anathema to most. Is there anything as boring as the demand to shred Mystery so as to nearly box up its parts? Why must everything be cleanly neatly mathematically confined to an “empirical” “Enlightened” world?

Today:

- on my wander through the woodland gardens I saw children on a gnome hunt, a regular school holiday activity there. So much joy and excitement!

- in Mum’s garden I saw from closeup a korimako (bellbird) feeding on bottle brush flowers. It then sang its beautiful song.

- I started reading a new book, which seems promising, after finishing a very good one last night (Fair Rosaline by Natasha Solomons, highly recommend).

Wednesday has finally wended its way past Tuesday & looks thoroughly unpromising. Very overcast & grey with temperatures not expected to hit double figures.

Toying with a shopping trip this morning if I can gather some motivation together.

Good morning. One of the good things about being me is that I cope with stress by cleaning. (Don’t ask me why, it’s just how I’m built.) As a result, I’ve already gotten laundry done + put away, washed the kitchen floor and vacuumed.

Yesterday on my walk I came across a number of lady slipper wildflower plants starting to sprout in the woods. They do every year about now. Not a big deal, just a reminder to me that some good things remain a constant. Thank goodness.

My schedule today has on it dealing with not one, but TWO, problems created by Microsoft. Just need to vent here.

First up we are trying to get a server to take patches. Broken patching is a long-standing problem with Microsoft. Their answer, just rebuild. Only thing is it's a brand new server built in first quarter.

Second. Assessments. If you run them, you know how messed up they are, especially with the change in 2024. Had a series of jobs partially fail two times out of three. We pull the output into a data warehouse and use Power BI so we can see the output, unlike the lame Microsoft site. But this data is a hot mess. Cleanup on aisle 4!

Today:

- I went for my routine checkup at the breast cancer clinic and things seem fine

- I found a couple of nice kitsch souvenir tea towels at the op shop (I’m collecting them to make another bedcover or throw)

- the sweet peas are still going! I picked a fresh bunch, very small but still beautifully scented

#Today is a day of routine for me, which should let me catch up on some projects and leave enough time for a midday nap. I’m trying to get that incorporated back into my life as a regular thing.

Then I need to make a few more signs for the Rush-hour Resistance Rally I’m hosting on Weds.
