LizAs the day draws to a close, everything I tried hard not to think about suddenly comes top of mind. There is no repression of feelings at the end of the day when you have nothing else to distract you and you’re left alone with your thoughts. Today is my dad’s birthday. This is the first birthday without him. He taught me love for the outdoors and music. Words cannot describe the deep sorrow and the loud silence of his absence. I miss you so much. LizSnowshoeing with my friends up a very steep hill. I had my jacket tied to my waterpack and it somehow got loose and fell off at the top on the mountain. I realized this when we were at the bottom. I was ready to abandon the jacket, but my friends refused because it was a brand new jacket and so I turned back and ran up that hill so my friends didn’t have to climb it all the way again. Everyone I passed on the trail said, “YOU’RE the jacket person? We saw it, it’s still there.” Haha everyone was so nice and no one took the jacket.
