A slice of Americana and a fish on the hook, Santa Monica Pier is the end of Route 66 and the backdrop for many classics such as Threes Company, The Sting, Demolition Man, and Baywatch. It is also a historically significant place for lgbtq rights, from early activist groups in the 1950s such as The Mattachine Society and Daughters of Bilitis.
