Indigenous people have used the area to mine pigments for 9,000 years. Andy<p>This evening after I finished work, we walked up to the loch that the community woodland sits next to.</p><p>Not been up there on foot before. Noss is over the horizon. About 5km there and back. An absolute smorgasbord of lichens and moss, and perfect little microclimates in the moorland as water babbles over the Bressay sandstone.
