As I mentioned previously, to use this as my <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/workbench" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>workbench</span></a> <a That Deaf Guy<p>Any <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a> geeks on here? </p><p>A former <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Win10" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Win10</span></a> update knocked out my laptop's wifi. I've reinstalled, and updated, the Toshiba (my laptop make) WiFi driver to no success, the Intel WiFi driver wasn't successful either. This morning I installed a Netgear <a href="https://beige.party/tags/WiFi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WiFi</span></a> dongle to, again, no success.</p><p>Settings say that the WiFi is 'hard' switched off. So if I just move the toggle in the WiFi settings page it switches itself back off straight away.</p><p>Is there anyway to fix this do you know?</p><p>EDIT: there is no physical switch</p><p>EDIT2: It's a Qualcomm Atheros AR002WB-1NG - this too is on the most recent driver.</p>
Walker<p>A couple times a year I have to fire up the WIndows 10 box. I keep forgetting that the machine is useless for several hours while it downloads updates and other patches. </p><p>I need it connected to the network so I can not simply ignore the updates. </p><p>So now I just bang my head on the desk while I wait for an ancient computer to update.</p><p><a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/windows10" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>windows10</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/win10" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>win10</span></a> <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/microsoft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>microsoft</span></a>.</p>
DrBob, Neurologist, 🧠Mechanic<p>Microsoft is basically discontinuing Windows. What will happen, then?</p><p>“Win11 does not have vulnerabilities that are as severe as win10, because it is being actively patched. Unfortunately, when win11 machines do get owned, they disgorge everything. Numerous major leaks of sensitive information happen. We all learn to ask people if they have a win11 machine before we send them nudes.”</p><p><a href="https://vmst.io/tags/windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>windows</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/microsoft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>microsoft</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/win10" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>win10</span></a> <a href="https://vmst.io/tags/win11" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>win11</span></a><br><a href="https://azhdarchid.com/microsoft-is-basically-discontinuing-windows-what-will-happen-then/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">azhdarchid.com/microsoft-is-ba</span><span class="invisible">sically-discontinuing-windows-what-will-happen-then/</span></a></p>
