The person asking just looked confused, but a lady two spots down from her overheard and burst out laughing, before giving me a big grin.
It was indeed the cable car queue, as I explained a moment later to the person who had asked, once I’d finished amusing myself.

This is absolute madness. This is the second case of a European tourist being captured and held by #ICE recently. The first was a German girl I wrote about earlier (still no resolution last I heard) and now #BeckyBurke, a #British backpacker. Held for almost two weeks with no resolution and limited contact with the outside world.

I've lived in #Britain for 25 years. Sometimes I wonder about my adopted homeland, and if I belong here. And then something like this comes along, and everything is right with the world. 
Is "cowboying" in this context even a regular word that people use? My meaning is somewhere between 3 and 4 on Wiktionary:
3. (informal) A person who engages in reckless behavior, especially for the purpose of showing off.
4. (British, informal) A dishonest or incompetent independent tradesman.
I picked it up from a programmer I hired long ago who was using it a lot for anything not done by the book. A quick, dirty fix. Not quite a bodge. It kinda stuck :)

I think #Canada should close it's border with the US, reason being that it can't be trusted and having an open border with a country that is clearly having issues with #fascism is not in Canada's security interests.
It is time the #British acknowledged that if #America will put tarrifs on Canada, an ally and a country he signed a trade deal with, then their 'special relationship' with America means f**k all to Tr**p!
