YvanWeather just got more and more rubbish through the day... so ended up doing an 8 hour shift of potting on and seed sowing!That's 74 <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/chillies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#chillies</a> potted on, across 26 varieties!!🤪 We'd better get cracking with finishing that <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/allotment" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#allotment</a> greenhouse build, the polytunnel isn't going to be enough this year.I've pricked out overgrown lettuces and badly etiolated chard, did the best I can with them. It's not something we need loads of though, hopefully some will make it.Did some multisown mixed radish and four varieties of beetroot. In the flower department: swan river daisy, "black" hollyhocks, chamomile from tea bags, and tobacco.Plus herbs: 4 varieties of basil, and some old shiso seed which may or may not be viable!And have popped this year's tomatoes and tomatillos into chamomile, they'll go in soil tomorrow (? maybe, lol.)<a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/peppers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#peppers</a> <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/gyo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#gyo</a> <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/growyourown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#growyourown</a>

RonjaChilli Survivors 🌶️ Tried to overwinter my chilli plants this year—kind of a test run. I left one group outside (winters are usually mild here) and brought another group indoors. Turns out my "abuse" of them leaving on a wet tissue for over a week after the chamomile soak hasn't done any harm. They hadn't sprouted yet when I planted them but they were clearly close. Yvan104 seeds, 52 little pots, 28 varieties - that's the <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/chillies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#chillies</a> in the <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/HotFridge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#HotFridge</a>... YvanA bit of a delayed sowing for the <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/chillies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#chillies</a>, but it's still January! Plus these seeds got a head start, too much so in some cases perhaps. Hopefully they'll be OK.Compost is seived and microwaved to 70°C and then needs to cool.

YvanAnd this is round-2 of the <a href="https://toot.ale.gd/tags/chillies" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#chillies</a> into their chamomile bath. The first round are actually currently sat under a cover on damp paper towel as I've not had time to get them into pots yet, generally this is fine, you can actually germinate them this way and plant only those that germinate - I've seen some folks do it this way.I'll make the time tomorrow hopefully, I'm up against some strong alternative priorities right now.Anyway, round-2 is in for their chamomile soak. ANOTHER 14 varieties... I've gone mad... 28 varieties this year? Bonkers.
