LizAs the day draws to a close, everything I tried hard not to think about suddenly comes top of mind. There is no repression of feelings at the end of the day when you have nothing else to distract you and you’re left alone with your thoughts. Today is my dad’s birthday. This is the first birthday without him. He taught me love for the outdoors and music. Words cannot describe the deep sorrow and the loud silence of his absence. I miss you so much. It's decades old, but Fluke is know for its high quality and it's still worth a small fortune. It was however incredibly dirty and in need of a thorough cleaning. My dad is turning 100 later this year. My family gave up exchanging gifts a while ago, but we do exchange cards.

There aren't a lot of choices for someone turning 100.

Fortunately, I found a site in the UK that makes lovely cards and lets you customize them for no extra charge, so their 60th birthday card became a 100th birthday card. And postage from the UK was very reasonable, too.
