I came home from work the other day to find this beautiful white peacock strolling down our street on the road! I quickly parked the car and went to grab the camera and captured a few shots before he disappeared into someone's backyard. It is extremely unusual to find a wild peacock strolling in a residential area, although our area does have many trees.

Two days later, he returned, strolling from our place to other residential properties. I will look forward to meeting him again!

I do differ in opinion with a comment below that white Peacocks have blue eyes, as this one definitely appears to have red eyes.... so perhaps he is a real albino. By Kaye Menner Photography.

Custom piece featuring an English Setter, ruffed grouse feathers, and two Garnets is complete! It’s also my first time creating a piece of jewelry featuring someone’s dog. This was such a fun one.

Turkey tail mushroom, which has a velvety texture, placed on a blank surface with the edges pointing down towards the necklace the artist has chosen to photograph. The necklace features a dog facing to the right, with features that show the dog has medium length fur. An English setter, which is usually used for bird hunting. Attached to the right and left sides of the dog by a few chain loops, are two hand forged ruffed grouse feathers. These feathers are striped and have a boxy shaped end. Two faceted round Garnet stones are set on the feathers to add a pop of color.

Jewelry piece is being shown against open palm of hand in order for the viewer to get a feel for the size of the piece and its details. Piece is of English setter dog, with the two striped feathers laying closed above the dog, in order to show the free independent moving pieces of the design. Wrist of hand shows a small part of the designers arm tattoo which features knot work.

A close up of the English setter itself. The dog facing to the right, has an 18k gold eye, created from a tiny granule of gold. The dogs coat pattern is mostly white with spots along it’s back, and a section of the head that is dark and has a dark floppy ear. These dogs, which are used for bird hunting much of the time, have a particular pointing stance they use to tel their owner they have sighted a bird. In this stance, the tail points upward, instead of straight out like many traditional pointer dogs.

Times can get tough for wildlife when it gets this cold. For example, it appears this mullein (𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘴𝘶𝘴) had to eat a blue jay (𝘊𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘢 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢):

The basal rosette of a mullein plant amidst crunchy russet leaves. The fuzzy green leaves of the mullein have a sparse coating of frost, and two ragged blue feathers with white tips lie on top.
