I manually review accounts who want to follow me (too many bot and scam waves). I automatically reject empty accounts!

How can this happen? Sometimes, accounts want to follow me that are completely empty, no posts, no communication (even not on their instance). But they have crazily many followers in a very short time. A new scam? Superfamous people under idiotic aliases? 22 K followers - most of them with 0 followers ! for a guy with an idiotic alias and a fake profile photo.

There are a lot of advice posts on on following great people on #Mastodon but very few on GETTING FOLLOWERS

I remember that one time I tried to cull my #mastadon #following list. Got it down to 1000 and gave up apparently lol. It wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have to unfollow one at a time. This is what I get for following everyone.

Our "admin" @admin has put out a program to list following and followers so, I'm going through my lists to find out who is missing and I've missed so far, its been tested on Mastodon instances but don't know if it will work on other platforms.

A topic that came up within the last few days is a way to look at your following and followers lists. Please don't abuse public data for others. Nothing fancy but here it is:
