This Is My GlasgowOld branded access cover in the Govanhill area of Glasgow. A cursory search hasn't located R Morton and Son, but I presume they were plumbers. This Is My GlasgowThe Govanhill Picture House. This wonderful Egyptian-themed Art Deco cinema was designed by Eric Sutherland and opened in 1926. It's design was presumably inspired by the mania for all things accient Egyptian which swept the world after the rediscovery of Tutankhamun's tomb just a few years before in 1922. Dixon of the Govan Iron Works. This Is My GlasgowI love the shape of this terminal pavilions on Victoria House in the Govanhill area of Glasgow. Dating from around 1900, it was once the home of A.F Reid and Sons Bakers.
