More hypocrisy from Streeting, who is using yet another Reform Party dogwhistle. There are thousands of UK medical graduates on the scrap heap because they can't find jobs in the UK.

TITLE: Why don't we remember being a baby? New study provides clues

URL: sciencedaily.com/releases/2025

Though we learn so much during our first years of life, we can't, as adults, remember specific events from that time. Researchers have long believed we don't hold onto these experiences because the part of the brain responsible for saving memories -- the hippocampus -- is still developing well into adolescence and just can't encode memories in our earliest years. But new research finds evidence that's not the case. In a study, researchers showed infants new images and later tested whether they remembered them. When an infant's hippocampus was more active upon seeing an image the first time, they were more likely to appear to recognize that image later. The findings indicate that memories can indeed be encoded in our brains in our first years of life. And the researchers are now looking into what happens to those memories over time.

"There is widespread reporting of hundreds of grant cancellations at the National Institutes for Health (NIH)—with significantly more coming. This is in the context of ongoing funding freezes and chaotic layoffs of its expert staff, most of whom have PhDs in the fields for which they oversee review and funding processes."

Measles is not only airborne, it is one of the MOST contagious infectious diseases that exists.

The RO (reproduction number) for is 12-18. That means a person infected with measles will infect an average of between 12-18 other people.

Texas is in the throes of a terrible measles outbreak, and yet a Lubbock hospital is requiring masks on two floors only.

An airborne virus won’t stay confined to certain floors. They need mandatory respirators across the hospital.

You know what else that would help prevent? Hospital acquired Covid. Given measles wipes out your immune memory and makes you more susceptible to diseases, now would be an excellent time to bring back masking in healthcare.

“Out of an abundance of caution and because of ongoing measles outbreak in our area, we have implemented temporary masking requirements for all visitors who enter our patient care areas on the 1st and 2nd floor in the Children’s Hospital to further protect patients.

Relatedly, if you are in healthcare and you aren't masking, START. I would like for it to be safe for me to access healthcare. If you are not masking that tells me you either don't understand viral transmission or you don't care about me. I'm not sure if ignorance or eugenics is worse but neither are a good look for healthcare.

I'm NEGATIVE!!!

I had to have surgery requiring me to unmask. Hospitals no longer require masks, the nurse was sick, other patients were sick, & I got sick.

But it's not fucking Covid. I don't have time to manage anymore health problems. This is why we need masks in healthcare.

"Transgender adults who received gender-affirming hormone therapy had a significantly lower risk of moderate-to-severe depression over four years compared to those who did not receive such care, according to a new study published in the journal JAMA Network Open."
