Hey, #Krita people and @krita_artists ! (And maybe #Inkscape people and @inkscape artists!)

I want to have a character's head coming out a frame/shape (a la the Disney VHS spines from the Old Times). I feel like there should be an easy way to do this, but so far all I've got is making a shape, pasting the character, pasting another shape on top, and kind of masking out the character. Doesn't feel optimal so I thought I'd ask. #help #artist #

Je cherche du travail sur Paris, dans à peu près n'importe quel domaine. Mon parcours est trés éclectique, et m'a permis de développer une grande polyvalence. Vingt ans dans la technique audiovisuelle, onze en tant que syndic non professionnel (toujours en exercice), cinq ans barman, artiste militant depuis toujours.

Do you know of any self-organized, bottom-up, locally-rooted educational organizations?

I am asking this because I am talking intensely with @ceci about ideas and dreams we have for our home city, #Sanremo, Italy.

We are both coming to the conclusion that an autonomous, independent, cooperative, critical, and deeply rooted university is one of the very very few projects that could give young people in the area a real chance not to emigrate.

As we are also both deeply in love with fringe academia, it would also be the only reason for us to somehow maintain a bond with our homeland.

Please, boost and share this, and send us any kind of suggestions! We particularly welcome Italian initiatives.

I need very specific #computer #help rn.

Background: my laptop is old. Recently it has been saying I need to replace the battery.

Booted the laptop up and it didn't say the message and instead told me my hard drive cannot be booted into. The computer was bleeping.

I found out from removing the drive and using a SATA to USB the sound was coming from the drive. NOT a mechanic noise... a "unable to read".

I'm hoping to gosh that the drive can't get enough power. And the data is okay.

After the crossings closed, this is our situation. This is our suffering, which hasn't ended 😞🥹 The gas has run out, and I have to cook over a fire during Ramadan, which is very exhausting. The cost of a gas cylinder is sky-high. Everything has doubled in price 😥

#diy #repair question: I bought an old 5-disc CD/DVD player at a garage sale a few years back (absolute steal btw) and it recently was giving me problems. Seems the control panel stopped working (likely from my toddler pushing the button a ton), so I opened her up and found that the ribbon cable connecting the control panel to the rest of the machine looked like so when I disconnected it. Seems to be the problem. Can this be repaired or do I need to track down a replacement cable?

Volunteered at our local repair cafe today. I fixed an RC car and an amplifer, and helped diagnose an LED christmas tree.

Couldn't take pictures of the whole space, but here's my little workstation with my tools. There were 8 volunteers and about twice as many visitors, so it wasn't too stressful.

I definitely plan to volunteer again, once the organizer gets the next date picked out!
