New Mexico NomadLocated between Silver City and Deming, City of Rocks State Park is known for its large rock columns, that rise up to 40 feet. Valkyrie J.Elko. A seedy high desert town with great murals and a whole lot of cowboys, poetry and cowboy poetry. As usual I'm overthinking things. Is American cowboy culture rooted in white supremacy and Christian nationalism? Are all these folks ranchers or just dressing the part? Do cowboys want to live in concert with the land or do they just want to conquer it? Are cowboys spiritual in a non Jesus way? Can they feel the power of the moon? TamamiIt's raining. House guests are gone, and it's quiet. I have nothing on my calendar, other than a quick trip to pick up small paintings that didn't sell 😑 . Trying to decide what I am painting in the afternoon... and this may be it. Trying to build up some snowy paintings, as I was *almost* selected to be the Christmas card for the local well-known art appraiser, but missed it because I didn't have any snowy scenes.
