Yes, "Buy #European" is trending but it also sucks. A lot.

Hear me out: I understand and also feel the urge for tech #independence, particularly from the US, right now.

But just because something is European doesn't make it good or ethical.

@Tutanota People shouldn't trust you because you're "from Europe" or German or whatever. But because you have an #ethical business model, employ good people, care about your users, respect #humanrights and build free and #opensource software.

He’ll now get a chance to form a coalition via talks w/other parties.
The ruling Inuit Ataqatigiit party & its partner Siumut,which also seek a slow path towards #independence, won 36% of votes,down from 66.1% in 2021.
#Greenland is a fmr #Denmark colony & a territory since 1953. It gained some autonomy in 1979 when its first parliament was formed,but Copenhagen still controls foreign affairs,defense & monetary policy.

#Demokraatit, which favours a slow approach to #independence from #Denmark, secured 29.9% of the votes w/all ballots counted, up from 9.1% in 2021, ahead of the opposition Naleraq party, which favors rapid independence, at 24.5%.

Since taking office, #Trump has vowed to make #Greenland - a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark - part of the #UnitedStates, saying it is vital to #US #security interests, an idea rejected by most Greenlanders.

“Given the threats & acceleration that I have described, we will have to make more budgetary choices (to increase #defense spending) in #France... w/o raising taxes,” Macron said.

The president has broad power under Article II of the Constitution to choose the leaders of #FederalAgencies or fire them at will. But #Congress carved out exceptions intended to preserve the #independence & #impartiality of certain #independent agency leaders.

#SCOTUS has upheld for-cause removal rules for agencies w/multiple leaders but recently ruled that such restrictions don’t apply to certain agencies w/a single director.

Judge #AmyBermanJackson disagreed, saying in her ruling that the #statute “must stand.” Eliminating the restrictions on Dellinger’s removal, she wrote, “would be fatal to the defining & essential feature of the Office of #SpecialCounsel as it was conceived by #Congress & signed into #law by the President: its #independence.”

@petealexharris @urlyman I think a second #IndyRef is for the time being impossible. I think no #Westminster government will concede one. I think the only route to #ScottishIndependence now, short of civil war (which we definitely don't want) is civil disobedience on an absolutely mass scale -- which I don't believe we're going to get.

I also think that the #SNP is currently doing a very good job of destroying the #Independence movement.
