John Gordon 📷<p>Honestly, I don't think WordPress Jetpack works. I don't check the stats on my sites very often (I don't really care that much), but I've had a bunch of "site down" alerts recently, which I suspect might be from my hosting provider limiting concurrent sessions. Went to check the stats and they were off again. For some reason, it randomly disables stats collection and requires me to "activate" it again. That then shows an error, but actually works.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/wordpress" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wordpress</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/jetpack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jetpack</span></a></p>

Terence Eden<p>I've finally switched off <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JetPack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JetPack</span></a> from my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/WordPress" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WordPress</span></a> blog.</p><p>Have replaced the stats with the excellent <a href="https://www.kokoanalytics.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">kokoanalytics.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>I've lost the ability to auto-post to LinkedIn and Threads. Terence Eden<p>Right, I've written some code to export all of my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JetPack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>JetPack</span></a> stats.</p><p>5,458 JSON files - one for every day.</p><p>Now I just need to find a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/WordPress" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WordPress</span></a> stats plugin with a simple enough database schema that I can backfill.</p><p>Currently evaluating Matomo, Statify, and Koko.</p>
Michael Lucas :flan_set_fire:<p>my web store uses <a href="https://io.mwl.io/tags/Jetpack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jetpack</span></a> specifically for the "Let visitors subscribe to this site and receive emails when you publish a post" feature.</p><p>Jetpack wants me to start paying $12 a month for this. I might pay $12 a year for that feature, but $144/year is far too much. Especially when can I send mails directly from my web server!</p><p>Surely there's a free alternative for <a href="https://io.mwl.io/tags/wordpress" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wordpress</span></a>? Anyone know?</p>
