Students from Autonomous Design (Kask, Gent) came @greenfabric today for a workshop on modular design and #lasercut. Modules which Ben be inserted into each other are cut in waste fabric to for surfaces or 3d structures with no seam nor glue.
They either invented their own modules or used #opensource designs from oscircularfashion.com .
This workshop is derived from a #Fabricademy course.

And finally, I had to to a little job to check the maintenance operation (laser alignment) had good results, so I used a wood leftover to engrave something nice. I went for "Framasoft campaign 0 Main menu" par @davidrevoy , @Framasoft − CC-BY 4.0 (this image was designed for Framasoft's 2017 campaign "Contributopia", I really like it !)

I realize I've been so incensed at all going on since last year, that I've not shared my playtime stuff with you for eons. Here's the final cake topper I made for a friend's son last fall. It's a mash up of Spiderman and Link (from Zelda) and I had loads of fun making it. :) I didn't have time to get good photos of it. As usual I was pushing it to the very last minute. ;) I'm working on a VERY PINK Taylor Swift topper now for his Swiftie sister. :) #NDBProjectLaser #LaserCut #Maker #Handmade

Cake Topper made out of laser cut acrylic. A black outline to make it more graphic. With a crouched figure holding a sword. It has the cape and britches and boots of Link from the video game Zelda, but the face of spiderman, and the spider logo on its chest. There are two separate cake topper items. One says 15 and the other says The Legend of Hasan in the Legend of Zelda font. In greens and creams and some pops of turquoise. The colors are inlaid into the black acrylic outline, similarly to stained glass. I don't use a backing. I cut the insides slightly larger so they friction fit in the cut out spaces.
