Well-off #liberals still, to this day, think that you can get rid of #fascism with ridicule, clever takes, & refusing to pay attention to them. But those are rules for the boogeyman, not for real monsters. With real monsters, the only way to handle them is head on. Or head off, as it were.

Lack of education and the conservative attack on any non-parochial education explains a lot. Ignorance and lack of questioning leads to authoritarianism; it is all about power and controlling people's minds by teaching them not to think. Interesting article attached.
