The second piece in my new limited series exploring colour, shape, and hidden mathematical structure. This one uses cooler tones, but the logic behind the layout is just as deliberate—each shape appears where a quiet rule says it should. I’m playing with rhythm, repetition, and contrast, all grounded in numerical patterns I won’t be giving away just yet.

More pieces coming soon in the series.

Another addition to my Polygon Tessellation Range is live! This one is all about layered pentagons, bold contrasting colours, and intricate patterns that create a sense of movement and depth. I wanted to push the contrast with vibrant pinks, purples, and neon greens - definitely a statement piece!

Would you go for something this bold, or would you prefer a more muted version? Let me know!

I’ve just added a new digital artwork to my Ko-fi blog - this is the first piece in my Polygon Tessellation Range!

I love how geometric patterns create depth and movement, almost like they’re expanding beyond the frame. This one is bold, colourful, and full of interwoven shapes that play with perspective.

What colours do you think would work well for the next one? Let me know!

Hitomezashi sashiko cuts the surface into a tiling that can always be colored with exactly two colors so that the two colors never touch. My first round of stitches are large, so I filled in half of the space with tiny cross stitches in navy blue. This highlights the two-coloring of the tiling. (Yes, there’s a mistake in the geometry, but it’s working perfectly as a patch.) The fabric for the patch is a vintage piece of woven silk, from a collection of a seller’s samples, and I used the pattern woven into the silk as the grid for my stitches. This is now a patch on a pair of old bluejeans to give them new life. #mathart #visiblemending #sewing
