Debacle<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mstdn.social/@DM_Ronin" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>DM_Ronin</span></a></span></p><p>I had Android long time ago (<a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/CyanogenMod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CyanogenMod</span></a>, now called <a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/LineageOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LineageOS</span></a>) without Google playstore, only <a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/FDroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FDroid</span></a>, still it never felt like my own.</p><p>Since only a few years, I have a <a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/Pinephone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pinephone</span></a> running <a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/Mobian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mobian</span></a>, which is more to my taste, because it's <a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/Debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Debian</span></a> 🙂</p><p>Alternatively, there is <a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/PostmarketOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PostmarketOS</span></a> with broader hardware support.</p><p>For <a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/banking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>banking</span></a>, I use a <a href="https://framapiaf.org/tags/TANgenerator" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TANgenerator</span></a>. Vagrant Cascadian<p>Recently fixed an issue with my <a href="https://floss.social/tags/PinePhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PinePhone</span></a> where the usb-c charging port would get instantly hot to the touch... by replacing the usb-c board, available from the <a href="https://floss.social/tags/Pine64" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pine64</span></a> shop!</p><p>It was by no means as easy as working with <a href="https://floss.social/tags/MNTReform" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MNTReform</span></a> or <a href="https://floss.social/tags/FrameworkLaptop" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FrameworkLaptop</span></a> systems that are designed for repairability in mind, requiring some uncomfortable prying, but do-able.</p><p>As a bonus prize, it appears the kernel packages in <a href="https://floss.social/tags/Mobian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mobian</span></a> for the pinephone are getting better support lately, yay!</p><p>Thanks!</p>

Und die weder ein iPhone (= Apple-Wanze) noch ein Smartphone mit Werks-Android und Google Play Store (= Google-Wanze) haben wollen.<br><br>All diese Zwangs-Apps sind aber allesamt ausnahmslos nur im Apple App Store oder im Google Play Store erhältlich. Weder über F-Droid (wie auch, die sind allesamt proprietär und closed-source) noch als lose *.apk-Downloads noch für ganz andere Mobilbetriebssysteme (siehe weiter unten).<br><br>Der Zwang zu Apps, die es nur im Apple App Store und im Google Play Store gibt, schließt folgende Personengruppen aus, weil sie weder das eine noch das andere haben:<br><ul><li>Leute ohne Handy</li><li>Leute, die nur ein Dumbphone haben</li><li>Nutzer von entgoogleten Android-Forks (z. B. GrapheneOS, /e/OS, LineageOS, CalyxOS), wo es keine Google Play Services und keinen Google Play Store gibt</li><li>Nutzer von Mobilbetriebssystemen, die weder iOS noch Android sind (z. B. Sailfish OS, PureOS, PostmarketOS, Ubuntu Touch, Manjaro fürs Pinephone, Mobian) und folglich auch weder den Apple App Store noch den Google Play Store haben</li></ul><br>Und nein, nebenher noch ein billiges Burner-Phone mit Android zu kaufen, ist keine Lösung. Wer GrapheneOS oder Sailfish OS nutzt, nutzt das nicht, um auch mal GrapheneOS oder Sailfish OS auszuprobieren. Der nutzt das, um Apple und Google zu meiden wie der Teufel das Weihwasser. Pirate Praveen<p>So far in <a href="https://social.masto.host/tags/debphoshfund" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>debphoshfund</span></a> our efforts were in identifying priority areas for mobile gnu/linux.</p><p>Now we are moving to the next stage, contacting maintainers of specific projects and setting up a bounty / targeted fund raising.</p><p>Our first such project is make <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@organicmaps" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>organicmaps</span></a></span> adaptive / responsive on mobile screen.</p><p>Currently gnu/linux frontend is different from android and ios.
