The Residence (Netflix)

To most people this movie is a murder mystery following the "autistic savant detective" trope.

To me, this movie is a sophisticated, nuanced and comprehensive presentation of autistic traits in many roles. Each scene, each character only builds on previous nuances.

Allistic people are presented as being completely baffled by an autistic world they cannot understand.

A masterpiece.

I just watched Electric State on Netflix and personally think it’s a fun, sci-fi, action romp. I will probably watch it again just for all the awesome robots! Of course the “deep” home movie critics are tearing it to shreds because it’s not a masterpiece. Why does it need to be? It’s the modern equivalent of a “straight to vhs” movie. If kids in the 80’s and 90’s had access to this it would have blown them away! Are modern movies goers just spoiled?

I know its like a drop in the ocean but we sat down today and went through #US based services we use here in #JP. We cancelled #Spotify , #Youtube Premium, #Netflix (no replacements for now), #Amazon Prime (#Rakuten), plan to move our #IBKR portfolios over to Rakuten Securities and #Degiro , #Adobe CC. I am still looking for good replacement for #Cloudflare , #Backblaze and we need to decide what to do with #Apple iCloud and #Google One, GMail and their other services.

#Trump #Oligarchs #Amazon #Musk #netflix We managed to find a star link alternative and cancelled that ,I managed to find suppliers for most of the Amazon stuff(which has been hard hardly anyone delivers this far north and its costing me a lot more which is hard so I dont judge anyone at all who cant cancel Amazon ) Netlfix is next but does anyone know other online streaming options ,summers not too bad but the winter nights start around 3.30 here so I watch a lot of online stuff in winter
