Bernie Luckily Does It<p>My partner and I agreed not to tell the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/ActuallyAutistic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ActuallyAutistic</span></a> children enough about RFK Jr to get them upset, but one of them figured out all the implications anyway and just ranted for two hours about how they wanted to lead the "Searing Rebellion" against RFK Jr and Trump. They're now sketching out plans for how to divide an uninhabited island for autistic refugees to move to.</p><p>The Trump regime made a big mistake by mobilizing the nation's strategic reserve of <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a> against them.</p>

Jon<p>How about this e-ink PDA, eh?</p><p>We just need PalmPilot's back and these young guys would love their minimal lifestyle! 😂 </p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/VPQ2q7yVjZs?si=gxOYg7l0Ata7clo4" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/VPQ2q7yVjZs?si=gxOYg7</span><span class="invisible">l0Ata7clo4</span></a></p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/tech" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tech</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/youtube" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>youtube</span></a></p>
Silver Arrows<p>I mentioned earlier that I have this weird thing where sometimes I can't do things that I need to do. I had a period of three months where I wouldn't check my payslips, even though I needed to in case I got underpaid. I have frequent periods where I can't check my emails. This is especially if I've emailed someone I'm not close to and am expecting a reply.</p><p>As example is if I received faulty goods on Ebay. I've missed out on refunds because I send the complaint, but then I actively avoid checking for a reply. </p><p>Does anyone else experience things like this? I was looking at demand avoidance: <a href="https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/topics/behaviour/demand-avoidance#What%20is%20demand%20avoidance" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">autism.org.uk/advice-and-guida</span><span class="invisible">nce/topics/behaviour/demand-avoidance#What%20is%20demand%20avoidance</span></a></p><p>But I don't know if it's that or some weird manifestation of <a href="https://autistics.life/tags/anxiety" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>anxiety</span></a>. The best I can describe it is apprehension? It's hard to put a proper name to it. I get milder forms, where for instance if I need to transfer money to my savings and there's nothing stopping me, but I won't be able to do it. Then randomly I'll snap out of it and feel like I can do it. It's not procrastination or getting distracted. It's a different feeling from that.</p><p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/actuallyautistic" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>actuallyautistic</span></a></span> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/neurodiversity" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>neurodiversity</span></a></span></p><p><a href="https://autistics.life/tags/pda" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pda</span></a> <a href="https://autistics.life/tags/autism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>autism</span></a> <a href="https://autistics.life/tags/actuallyautistic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>actuallyautistic</span></a> <a href="https://autistics.life/tags/DemandAvoidance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DemandAvoidance</span></a> <a href="https://autistics.life/tags/mentalhealth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mentalhealth</span></a></p>

Angela<p>*sigh*</p><p>So, if you recall dear followers, the last person who we consulted with about support came on a uniquely bad day, I didn't give my 8yo adequate warning for her arrival, he was surprised into a fight response and hit her arm, so she left immediately, according to SOP. in ♥️ with PDA (and 🐧)<p>My current <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a> collection. Taking inventory today.</p>
Angela<p>I figured Flip would be into <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/HayaoMiyazaki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HayaoMiyazaki</span></a> stuff, most likely <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/MyNeighbourTotoro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MyNeighbourTotoro</span></a>. But rather than suggest it directly, and have him reject it out of hand because He Did Not Think Of It First (something apparently common in <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a>?) I started watching it on my laptop myself. The sound of the kids yelling excitedly drew him in, and he quickly became engrossed. 1/8</p>
Angela<p>Feeling like why do I even try?</p><p>Just had to walk away from an activity with Flip (my autistic <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a> 7yo)because... I don't even know why. He wanted to get involved in cutting pieces of fabric for the plush version of Alejandro Pato, but he didn't like my suggestions for what he could do, then got mad and tried to grab my very large and sharp tailor scissors, got madder when I pulled them away, and hit me and started yelling threats he learned from the Jetsons comics (no joke, those are trash).</p>
Angela<p>Flip is deeply unhappy with the update to <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/Duolingo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Duolingo</span></a> that changed the angle on the animated characters so they're kind of looking up at the viewer.</p><p>He's refusing to do his lessons til they change it back, but he doesn't want to lose his streak, so begs me to do them.</p><p>Some would say I should just let it lapse and he "can cope", I can assure you based on history, this will only make things worse. </p><p>Guess I'll email support, for all the good it will do. </p><p><a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/PDA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PDA</span></a></p>
