Common Toads
A few images from today's wander around the woods, watching the local toads making their way slowly to bodies of water, to spawn.

A lovely dog walk. I went to sit with the sheep.
Are you visiting #Skye this year? My new Skye and the #InnerHebrides guidebook recommends the island's most interesting nooks and crannies, with lots of good reasons to take your time exploring.

Anwoth Old Kirk, made famous as a prominent location for the 70's folk horror film The Wicker Man.

On this day in history. The Royal Research Ship Discovery was launched in Dundee 124 years ago today on 21 March 1901, before taking Robert Falcon Scott on his first Antarctic expedition in August that year. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/dundee/discoverypoint/index.html

My new portfolio featuring Torridon and Applecross in the Scottish Highlands is now live! https://www.iancylkowski.com/the-scottish-highlands/torridon-applecross
These photos taken all the way back in October 2016, when I was still using a Nikon D7000. I've only ever been to this part of the Scottish Highlands once, and I YEARN to go back again.

Some days I don't have anything to say on my blog. So here are the photos instead. Enjoy.
Glen Garioch Distillery, which can be found in back streets on the northern edge of Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire, looks and feels (and smells) exactly as a distillery should. More pics and info: https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/oldmeldrum/glengarioch/index.html
#Sarwar has come down from the fence - that spike was hurting his ar*e.
So as we have come to expect, 'Scotch' (as I prefer to call them) #Labour will go along with anything #Westminster says. Those Scottish MPs who have voted for punitive welfare 'reforms' are still refusing to talk to the media - even the EBC. I hope their constituents are paying attention - by Labour in #Scotland.

At least the police didn't overreact, with a whole operational siege outside her house or anything

The Gnarly Tree. This sits at the foot of the switchback track that leads to both Silver and Alva Glen in the Ochils. Shot yesterday afternoon in the brilliant Spring sunshine.
Continuing to share favourite images from my 30+ year photographic career. Focus for the next few days, my love of the greatest mode of transport ever invented, the bicycle. Here’s another from Scotland, in fact the same day as yesterday’s pic, descending back to Torridon. One of the best days I’ve ever had on a bike.

Happy World Rewilding Day! This image was made under the canopy of a lovely old granny Scots Pine, some hundreds of years old. It's seedlings were scattered in a ring around it, growing slowly but surely. During late summer, pine cones which are ready to drop will literally "pop" off of the tree with an audible crack, launching themselves away from the trunk to find new ground. A wonderful example of rewilding in action.
