Joshua P. Steele<p>OK, I’m on the hunt for my first table saw, and I’m really tempted by this vintage Craftsman 113 (see picture). How hard would it be to add a stand and extend the table surface? Are there like wings/extensions you can easily add? <a href="https://social.lol/tags/woodworking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>woodworking</span></a> <a href="https://social.lol/tags/craftsman" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>craftsman</span></a> <a href="https://social.lol/tags/tools" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tools</span></a> <a href="https://social.lol/tags/tablesaw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tablesaw</span></a></p>

Found some old boards stacked in one of the barns, then made made a 3m long jig for sending them through the table saw from two pieces of door architrave and some scraps.</p><p>Cutouts where the frame had reinforcements welded in and voila, new floor. I'll add braces when I've redone the frame.</p><p>Also a wheelbarrow of scraps for the following hot shower (well, tub of warm water to pour over the head).</p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/DIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DIY</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Homestead" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Homestead</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Woodworking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Woodworking</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/TableSaw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TableSaw</span></a></p>
Twiteryeanot 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿<p>Argh!</p><p>Didn't think this through 100%...</p><p>The grey section of the table saw is not magnetic 😬.</p><p>Now what? I matter be reduced to actually useing some kind of fixings and drilling holes...<a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/woodworking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>woodworking</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/tablesaw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>tablesaw</span></a></p>
Y⃒̸̷̝̜̙ͥͥͥngmar<p>Recycled some salvaged panels from broken MDF furniture into shelves for the intact MDF furniture.</p><p>Some day I'll get around to making nice furniture, but this will have to do for now.</p><p>Gathered the icky MDF sawdust, it's no good for compost, only for combined cycle power plants. Which is where the "recycling" bins go. Not sure which one, Vilnius or Elektrenai probably.</p><p>First time using the extended fence, very useful.</p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/DIY" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DIY</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Furniture" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Furniture</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/MDF" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MDF</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Recycling" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Recycling</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/ReUse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ReUse</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/TableSaw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TableSaw</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Woodworking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Woodworking</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Homestead" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Homestead</span></a></p>
Y⃒̸̷̝̜̙ͥͥͥngmar<p>Getting it back in the box a year later is even trickier than getting it out.</p><p>Couldn't figure out how the fence fit into the puzzle, so that got packed separately.</p><p>Still happy with this saw by the way. Good value. Did everything I asked of it without complaint. </p><p>Meanwhile made some very useful accessories: a crosscut sled, small mitre sled, featherboard and zero-clearance insert.</p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Woodworking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Woodworking</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Tablesaw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tablesaw</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Moving" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Moving</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Skil" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Skil</span></a> <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/Packing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Packing</span></a></p>
