JeffLate summer in Katmai National Park. During this time in early September, the tundra comes alive with a psychedelic wave of color. Everywhere you look you are surrounded by undulating layers of reds, oranges, yellow and green. Most of these small plants grow berries, and in this shot there are over 10 species of berries that I can see. We were camped here for a week and got absolutely pounded by rain and wind, and on our last day it opened up and we went exploring. Hiking up that snow kissed peak in the background and then we dropped down through miles of tundra to a double waterfall that we had spotted on our flight in.
