The Squeeze Out
1. The rich accommodate resources & drive the working class in debt
2. Economic crisis. Working class runs out of resources. Cant borrow or spend anymore. Government has to step in
3. Government runs out of resources, becomes massively indebted to the rich
4. Government has to eviscerate the middle class. Nobody owns any wealth but the rich
5. The only way the rich have left to increase their wealth is to send you off to fight wars

How pathetic are the #DUP #TUV and their tame troll 🚮? It seems to have escaped their attention that they live in IRELAND, and this is our national language; it’s legal, it’s used in Courts, in Stormont; has been used by our MPs in House of Commons, and by various members of the royal family on State visits to Ireland - north and south.
No one is holding their heads in a fixed position or forcing them to read anything in Irish. All the signage will also be available in English, for those who cannot tell the difference between Beal Feriste and Belfast.
🚮 aka Jamie Bryson is trying to lodge legal objection against Irish Language signage with the courts.
We have so many problems, not least the reduction in PIPs and other benefits, the negative effects of the new ETA, the problems being caused by the American administration worldwide; and this kind of bigotry is what gets them up in the morning. Sigh

From Dan Neidle at Tax Policy Associates:

Rachel Reeves' Spring Statement papers contain a major suite of anti-tax avoidance proposals, probably the toughest ever introduced. If enacted this will, in effect, criminalise the tax avoidance industry.

Why wasn't it referenced in her speech?

Why wasn't it mentioned in all he pre-and-post speech news and comment?

"It’s worth noting that, while governments have an obsession with efficiency, it’s still limited solely to cost-cutting. There seems to be little interest in, for instance, making access to #welfare payments more efficient, or #healthcare, or #childcare, as any parent who has battled on their laptop deep into the night trying to conquer the tax-free childcare scheme knows. No, efficiency is only important when attempting to immediately maximise profit."

@lostsettler So people are arrested for meeting in a place of worship, and expressing concerns for victims in other parts of the world.
Someone’s husband has to sign a report because their wife is in a ASSI.
People are arrested for holding a sheet of blank A4 in public
People are arrested for thinking about peaceful environmental action.
People are arrested for saying ‘Abolish The Monarchy’
People are jailed for years for standing on a motorway bridge
People are not allowed to defend their action in court and get long jail sentences.
This is supposed to be a democracy called the United Kingdom; but all these police and judicial actions are more like Russia or North Korea, or China.

How has fascism in Britain got this far? Neoliberalism has opened the door for it
theguardian.com/commentisfree/
Why seek to nix the financial regulations inspired by the 2008 crash, when the likely result is a repeat performance? Why reject a wealth tax, when a 2% levy on assets of over £10m could raise £24bn a year? Why not adopt the measures proposed by Patriotic Millionaires, generating £60bn a year? Or those suggested by political economist Richard Murphy, worth £90bn in tax revenue? Why abandon plans to tax non-doms properly? Why not demand an end to the Bank of England’s destructive quantitative tightening?

The Met Police achieve a Streisland win - finally being reported by the MSM. They must be so proud. Pratts.

More than 20 Metropolitan Police officers broke down the front door of a Quaker meeting house to arrest six women who had met to discuss climate change and Gaza.

None have been charged - but the message iOS clear. Under Labour dissent is BAD.

Ahh - following a few comments and general media silence( bar Canary and others) the Gruaniad finally takes its head out of the sand. Only a few days late.

‘Police said all those arrested had been released on bail, except for one who was released and will face no further action.’

The Streisand effect hits the Met. We’ll have to see the evidence but I doubt it will hit a court. But that was never the point.

Silvia Galandini, of the poverty charity Oxfam, said: “We live in the sixth-richest country in the world where billionaires alone saw their wealth soar by £11bn last year. It is morally repugnant that children, disabled people and carers are the ones who are taking the hit.”
