TVs of Old, Valley Relics Museum, Van Nuys, California

We finally made it over to the Valley Relics Museum (https://valleyrelicsmuseum.org/), even though it is just “up the street” from where we live. There were a lot of great artifacts including a huge neon sign collection. Check it out when you are at a loss for something to do in the San Fernando Valley.

An inspirational & productive week it was! Realized a life-long dream spending some days in the Dolomites in autumn. Made the most of the last long(er) days of summer time hiking in surreal landscapes with amazing light & colors, in perfect weather (occasionally with dramatic clouds!), with perfect company and mostly away from any masses of people — then spending evenings coding on my open source projects (implementing some of the ideas & problems solved at 2500m elevation earlier in the day... :)

(Also looking forward to start selecting & editing more of my pictures...)

One of the most magnificent/magic places & moments — the up to 1300m tall walls on the other side of the valley are catching the last golden light on Monday evening...

View into a magnificent deep valley with steep 1300m tall vertical rock walls on the other/opposite side. The rocks are pink/beige with the less steep sections of some terraces covered in trees (incl. a large number of larches in their beautiful orange autumn colors). The last bit of direct warm, golden sunlight is illuminating a section on the righthand side. The highest section around a barren peak (~2800m) is partially shrouded in clouds. The rock walls are deeply carved by ravines and alluvial cones further down are providing ground for denser forest to grow near the valley floor (not visible).
