Slight diversion yesterday. I #3dprinted this Judge Dredd ABC Warrior bust. Modified so the head is hollow because I want to add some electronics (LEDs for eyes and I have a spare M5 Stack Atom Echo knocking about so I might give him some voice functionality for shits and giggles).

My #3DPrinted #MorseCode key design is coming along.

The cover/handle works really well, I think. I printed it just long enough to be comfortable in my hand. Someone else might want it shorter or longer.

Meanwhile, I've also designed a belt mount. The belt goes through slots in a base that goes under the key, and it goes over the key to make it a solid fit. I could have done one where the belt goes underneath, but this seems like it would be more solid. Then the key slides into a block that swivels, and a few more thumb nuts lock it into any location you like within 40° left or right of center.

This is extremely parametric. The height of the block, the allowed degrees of swing, how thick and wide the belt are, how wide the whole thing is; most of the dimensions are derived from parameters.

This is the second revision of the base and swivel. The first version didn't swivel far enough, the key wasn't raise up far enough above my leg, and the whole thing was too wide. If the key isn't high enough, I inadvertently TX from my pants leg fabric brushing the key. This is because I have the key set to maybe 0.5mm travel to each side; it's quite sensitive. On this iteration, it's slightly too narrow; I can only fit a thin belt through it because the thumb nuts that lock the swivel in place interfere. The next version will be just a little wider.

I think I'm ready for some beta testers! Folks who don't mind running FreeCAD to adjust parameters and print multiple copies to adjust for the filament they are using could help make this good for others. Any #HamRadio #AmateurRadio CW enthusiasts also enjoy 3d printing and want to try this?

Hi, I'm me.

Made case for my #EMFCamp #Tildagon! Not my own design, it is thanks to the hard work of other folks and merely #3DPrinted by me, combining parts from three designs on Printables in order to fit my Tildagon with the bumper/cover that I designed on it, as well as accommodate a USB-C cable. I fettled the bottom case design slightly myself for the second print for Kat’s so it can take a USB connector without raising the tildagon off the case bottom. (That’ll be finished printing in about 30 minutes.) I still need to print the clips for Kat's, and I need to get some sort of 1.8mm rod/pins to hold them together, using drill-bits for now!

I also made a major step in my #allotment raised bed and greenhouse corner stakes by finally spending the time at the drill-press to drill the needed screw holes. Been procrastinating on that for weeks. They just need a clean and a bit of paint to inhibit rust now. (There’s no kill like overkill.)

A couple of hexagonal circuit-board "badges" from EMFCamp that are in white/translucent cases, one case open and missing clips/hinges, the other hinged up to work like a stand.
An assortment of mild steel angle iron on a bench pointy at one end and trilled with counter-sunk screw holes at the other, smaller ones about 600mm long and longer ones about 750mm long.

Printed out a vase with the color-change filament I bought earlier this week. The first one was in “vase mode” (single wall) so it didn’t use up enough filament to reach the color-change and was all a single color. Still pretty. Re-printed it with actual walls to make it sturdier and to use more filament so the color-change would show up. Very cool!

Another thing that happened today is this #3DPrinted case for my #EMFCamp #Tildagon — thanks to some great designs published on Printables. This combines two of the remixes of an original case published there: the bottom with the USB hole, and the top with the extra space for a bumper which works for top cover I designed for it.

Just need to find some pins to hold it together. (Held together with drill bits at the moment, lol.)

Works really well and also works as a stand!
