Witnessed a car crash metres infront of me today & must say I'm impressed with the actions of fellow bystanders.

I stopped my car, got out & started walking towards the woman driver of one car who as staggering out of her very smashed up small car.

But before I could get my stride, 6 other people were in-front of me attending to her & the car.

One guy had a hand-held fire extinguisher & was using it on the remains of her car's engine bay.

Four other people were helping her as she sat down, one person had a first-aid kit open on the ground next to her.

Bloody hell, well done fellow Australians, great display of mateship & immediately helping those in need in action.

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but does anyone know if/how Mastodon will be effected by the social media ban the Australian government passed?

Assuming Mastodon as a whole even goes along with it, or it's even included as a social media platform to begin with, how will it work because of it's decentralized nature? If they did cooperate, will it be a big, site-wide thing (is that even possible?), or will each fediverse server need to verify Australian user's ages separately in order to not be in breech? will Aussies loose access to servers that don't/can't do the verification, or just the whole site?

This whole thing is so stupid and poorly thought out, and it's hard enough finding answers that aren't just suspicions for "normal" platforms.
Mastodon is one of my favorite places to post art and stuff, I love it here, and I don't want to loose this account. A VPN to get around it isn't an option for me either, my internet connection isn't stable enough for one.
