I'm a big fan of small worlds

I took these photos at Miniaturland #Leer last week. There, the entire region of #EastFrisia (as well as Ammerland and the German capital Berlin) is displayed on a scale of 1:87. The exhibition area covers more than 1,500 square metres. Buttons can be pressed at various points to provide entertainment. For example, a cruise ship moves towards a harbour and fireworks go off, or photographers snap a group of cyclists taking part in a race. And yes, there are also some ‘naughty’ movements in the undergrowth.
The #Ostfriesland hall is illuminated in green, which makes this region look even more inviting

A miniature church from the side. The church tower, which adjoins the nave on the right, leans heavily to one side. It is the leaning tower of Suurhusen.

This is a photo of yesterday's sunset. It was indescribable, but I'll try anyway. In the lower part of the picture you can see the roof of a house, with tall trees next to it. Everything is black. And then there's lots and lots of sky. Directly above the roof of the house it is yellow, to the left and right of it it turns orange. Above it is a purple sky with pink stripes. The crescent of the half moon can also be seen very small.

The same motif, but now the sky directly above the house is glowing red, then a little lighter and then it turns dark blue with pink cloud stripes. Beautiful.

Made good progress with populating hexes for my „Late Medieval Fantastic Campaign (LMFC): Frisia Orientalis“ over the last weeks. The little project is about creating an #osr milieu by combining elements from history and historical geography of late medieval #EastFrisia (c. 1395 CE) with NW German Folklore which was compiled / invented at a much later point in time (19th c). The result is necessarily anachronistic, but it is about adventure gaming, I’m not prepping a history class. 1/x #ttrpg

@juergen_hubert Since you are currently living close to #EastFrisia how about taking inspiration from late 14th century Frisia!
- a swampy peninsula: arable land is controlled by semi-Independent peasant communities and chiefly families (Hovetlinge) immersed in endemic feuding (think: budget version of Game of Thrones: feuds, domain play).
- A considerable no. of local Chieftains is in league with pirates (this aspects connects the region with the wider world).
