Subscribing to multicast-like cable TV (DVB-C) is good because I am not tracked, as opposed to on-demand streaming (IPTV), where provider knows what exactly was requested and stream is sent to a subscriber personally, hence full analytics available
In case of DVB-C, all TV channels are broadcasted and it is up to subscriber to pick each one up. For encrypted channels one must obtain keys via Conditional Access Module (CAM), but all provider knows is whether keys are provisioned or not (subscribed to that channel or not)
