033/100 #The100DayProject #100DayProject2025 Birch Trees! I got some new watercolors from https://beampaints.com an Indigenous owned & operated company that makes the most luscious handmade paints. I swear the four colors I used here were made just for painting spring birch trees. #KnezekArt #MastoArt #FediArt
008/100 #The100DayProject #100DayProject2025 Spent the morning at the start of #Iditarod 2025, spent the afternoon & evening trying to get all the photos off my “new” camera, which I discovered is a pre-cameras-with-wifi model.

007/100 #The100DayProject #100DayProject2025 Yesterday, I spent most of the day trying to finish this hat for today. I did not. As you can see, it turned into a losing game of yarn chicken. (I did have another ball of the same yarn, but didn’t find it until well too late to finish the hat. )

Made some protest stickers today! I skipped the lamination, to make them as affordable as possible. They’re very water resistant, but not very abrasion resistant! Better for sticking on stationary objects rather than water bottles or phone cases and the like.
005/100 #The100DayProject #100DayProject2025 Finally got those two stickers on the website. #KnezekArt #MastoArt #FediArt
002/100 Got more orders this morning than I had buttons made, so today I made more buttons, instead of debuting my ko-fi sticker & button club (like I intended to do) for #The100DayProject today.
A happy problem to have, but it doesn’t make for an interesting post. So, instead I give you a pic I took for a customer who asked about Ukraine agitprop today (I’m adding the stickers to the website now).

Working on some small paintings for the weekend today, so #ArtAdventCalendar Day 19 is also my reminder to you (local Fairbanks #Alaska friends!) that I will be at Pioneer Park tomorrow 3p–7p for Northern Lights Winter Market #2, and then at Wedgwood Resort next to the Borealis Ballroom for the Procrastinators’ Bazaar on Sunday (11a–5p)!
After these last two shows, I would like to sleep for a month, thank you.
For #ArtAdventCalendar Day 17: My Hoarfrost series of ~8” paintings of various extravagantly colorful skies, with skeletal unpainted branches of bare trees & shrubs in the foreground.
Further proving my belief that I have no idea what people like, my two least favorites already sold, but the one in the middle has been hanging (unsold) in a lovely new champagne gold frame in Bear Gallery’s Limited Edition show for over a month now!
#ArtAdventCalendar Day 13: I do have some recurring themes in my art. #Fireweed & #Bees are two big ones (and one of these days, I’m going to perfect my bumblebees!).
Now, I really must excuse myself and go panic-paint for the Morris Thompson Cultural & Visitors Center Holiday Bazaar this weekend…
I didn’t forget #ArtAdventCalendar Day 12 (but I did forget my wedding anniversary )!
I was working on this as a shirt design last summer. Maybe it’s time to polish it up and print some shirts…
Day 11 of #ArtAdventCalendar 2024, I present very large #watercolor #poppies. They need a custom frame, which I haven’t wrangled together yet.
I’m particularly tickled with how the orange #poppy turned out. I need to paint more poppies more like *that* (but maybe on standard size paper ).
Oops! #ArtAdventCalendar Day 10 got bumped off my evening schedule by some surprise home maintenance activities…
Please accept this little birb, who is the product of trying to paint a #raven shape with as few brush strokes as possible, followed by adding details by lifting the paint off the highlights.
I think that technique warrants further study!
Yikes, I almost missed #ArtAdventCalendar Day 8! Here, have a little bitty #watercolor of some blooming #fireweed and a couple #bumblebees.
For #ArtAdventCalendar Day 7, I give you a smol poppy study. Not even 11” tall, and currently hanging in the Bear Gallery’s Limited Edition show here in Fairbanks (until someone buys it, or the exhibit closes, whichever comes first!).
If you would like some small poppies in your life, and you’re in #FairbanksAlaska, get over to Bear Gallery and grab these little guys!
For #ArtAdventCalendar Day 6, I give you my holiday card for 2024. This one is based on a true story…
A few years ago, in a nearby permafrost bog full of tiny stunted black spruce trees, someone hiked out over the frozen lumpy ground and put Xmas lights on one of the tiny trees.
I still kick myself for not getting a photo of it. They never decorated that little tree again, but it was amazing while it lasted.
For #ArtAdventCalendar Day 5: No Place Like Home, a portrait of Earth, our Moon, and even a glimpse of Mars off in the distance.
I painted this for The Northern Alaska Environmental Center’s Earth Day event this year, and it went to its new home later in the summer.
I miss it, it was huge and I liked looking at it hanging on my wall.
It’s #ArtAdventCalendar Day 4, and Moo Deng and her possum friend are having big feelings. I bet a lot of us can understand where these kids are coming from, can’t we?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
(These are #stickers I make. Art created in #Procreate.)
It’s that time of year again! Without further ado, I give you #ArtAdventCalendar Day 1: The most recent watercolor painting I’m absolutely in love with: Palette Knife Birch Tree No. 9
(What happened to PKBT Nos. 1–8? Good question. I’m just not in love with them anymore, I guess.)
