I finally did the ferry loop I've thought of doing since I moved here: take the ferry from Tsawwassen towards Swartz Point, drive south to Victoria and then north towards Nanaimo, then take the ferry from Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay, then back to Vancouver. And of course, make many stops along the way. I took a billion photos, too tired to go over all of them, but here's a few highlights:

a sail boat sailing past, with its mast and sail reflecting on the water surface. a peninsula is visible behind it, and in the distance, mountains are visible fading into the haze
the corner of a cliffside lodge is visible, facing a large and deep fjord valley. the valley walls are covered in pine trees, and the water surface can be seen far below
a narrow gauge railway station. a small diesel locomotive is stopped there with passenger cards behind. in the sidings, a few wagons are visible, including a very red firefighting tanker wagon. fall leafs are strewn around, and the sky is partially cloudy
a peninsula is visible, with a small boat moving towards the camera. high above, a small seaplane is visible. in the distance, tall mountains fade into the distance, with clouds above them
