En route to pharmacy to pickup prescription refills. A #SelfPortrait in the car.
The first in office appointment with my new family doctor has just been booked for this Friday morning. I have the first appointment of the day & the doctor has assured me that he & staff will be masked up, as I've requested
I tend to ask for first slot of the morning when booking medical appointments - to avoid running into a bunch of unmasked patients in waiting rooms.
I'll be asking if he will consider taking on my youngest brother as a new patient too because that bro still doesn't have a family doctor. He's been on the government waitlist for 2+ years.
I'm off to get mammogram now & then working on updating client files all afternoon. Remote(safer) work today
I'm bringing copies of this to plaster to clinics' elevator, hallways & front entrance.
All except 1 staff is masked at Burnside Medical Office, lower level office with bad air ventilation. There are 5 other patients in waiting area & only one is masked(blue surgical mask). Mom & I are only ones here wearing N95s. We have opted to sit closer to entry/exit & around the corner from the unmasked open mouth breathers.
I have requested doctor be masked before we enter examination room.
I'm probably going to get bangs again - early next year. This was just under 3 years ago. My friend Kate dyed & cut my hair at the Old Hat Shoppe in downtown #VictoriaBC. I look older without bangs & younger with them. I'm turning 50 on February 3rd & think I'll get bangs for my birthday
Cat face mask over my N95 mask.
Quick pharmacy pickup outing.
I'm always weirded out by unmasked people who go out of their way to compliment me on wearing my mask. Like - why are they complimenting me & telling me it's great to wear a mask to protect community....while the people saying these things to my masked face seem to have forgotten they are not wearing a mask?
Maybe repeated #covid infections have hampered their neurological processing.
It's bizarre to experience, multiple times, in different places, around the community.
4 years ago. When I had white & blue hair. Wearing N95 mask under sequin fabric mask.
My vivid hair colours were done by a friend, Kate, who works at The Old Hat Hair Shoppe, in downtown #VictoriaBC :

They should all mask up in hospitals. For everyone's safety, including their own.
In our several hours at #RoyalJubileeHospital today, I saw over 50 completely incapacitated/unconscious very elderly patients - wheeled in/out of surgery rooms by people with no masks on. They had no choice to protect their own health by staff who should know better. ATM - Hospitals, & their many unmasked staff, are playing Russian Roulette, on patients who cannot speak or advocate for themselves.
Mom was discharged, after she was stabilized, post day surgery/liver biopsy. She's going to rest in bed for rest of day when we get home. No strenuous physical activity for one week.
I had to ask almost all hospital medical staff, working with us today, to please put their masks on before coming near us. My handmarked mask helped with having no pushback on my mandatory mask-up request. Everyone I asked, stared at it, before grabbing masks & putting them on.
